The Mütter Museum

The Mütter Museum at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia houses one of the most extraordinary collections in America: 139 skulls, the conjoined liver of Chang and Eng Bunker, the cancerous jaw tumor removed from President Grover Cleveland, a wall of human colon sections, and a woman who turned to soap after death. Founded in 1863 as a medical education collection, it remains genuinely unsettling and utterly fascinating.
