Charles Kuralt declared the Beartooth Highway the most beautiful road in America, and it's hard to argue. The US-212 climbs to 10,947 feet — the highest paved road in Wyoming — through switchbacks above the treeline with views of over 20 peaks exceeding 12,000 feet. Open only mid-May through mid-October, it connects Red Lodge, Montana to Yellowstone's northeast entrance.
